Virtual Meeting 2020

Thank you to everyone who attended our first virtual meeting on Friday 6th November.

We had a wonderful programme celebrating 40 years of clinical body MRI arranged by Dr Anjali Nandakumar, with virtual presentation and support from Dr Derek Smith and Dr Struan Wilkie.

Thank you to all of our speakers, particularly Prof Fiona Gilbert delivering her second McGibbon Lecture, and thank you to our sponsors whose continued support as we pivoted to online was greatly appreciated.

This meeting saw the presentation of the inaugural William A Copland Trainer of the Year award to Dr Sandy Forbat, nominated by her trainees.

The AGM also saw the handover of the SRS President’s role from Prof John Murchison to Dr Maggie Brooks. Dr Alan Wallace is now our President Elect, and Dr David Cowell becomes the Society’s honorary secretary.

Recordings from the event will be available soon, and CPD certificates will be sent out on return of feedback forms.

Last chance to sign up to #scotrad20

We are looking forward to hosting the 2020 virtual SRS meeting this Friday 6th November.

We are using the Hopin platform for this meeting, where you can sign up with a free account and get tickets for the conference here. We have heard from users that this works best on modern browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox) instead of Internet Explorer.

SRS members will also get access to selected recordings from the meeting on our new SRS YouTube channel.

We are interested in seeing and representing radiology across Scotland, especially in an occasion where we can’t be together. If you like, you can submit your photos of work and life in Scottish imaging – either email us at [email protected] or share your photos on Twitter with #scotrad20!

Spring 2020 Meeting – postponed

We have postponed the SRS Spring 2020 meeting due to the effects of COVID-19.

The next planned meeting is in Aberdeen on Friday 6th November 2020, and the Inverness meeting will be rescheduled for Spring 2021.

Please see and our social media channels (Twitter / Facebook) for further updates.

Thank you,

Prof John Murchison
SRS President
