The Anne Hollman Medal in Radiology/Oncology
An annual award for the best scientific presentation by a trainee/staff grade in Scotland

Background
Council of the SRS wish to mark an event in remembrance of the professional life and work of Dr. Anne Hollman and have decided from 2002 to award a medal to encourage academic work of the highest standard in radiology and oncology.
Aim
To award two medals in radiology and oncology each calendar year for the best oral paper presentation in each specialty at the November SRS meeting.
Regulations
These regulations have been modified from the original proposal, and are detailed below:
Two prizes will be awarded annually for the best scientific paper presentation by a trainee or staff grade in both radiology and oncology, regardless of whether they are members of the SRS. The first awards were made at the scientific meeting in November 2002.
Applications may not be submitted on more than one occasion.
An Award Committee will be formed to judge all applications. Its membership will almost certainly change from year to year but it would not be envisaged that the membership would exceed five. It will consist of a joint panel of radiologists and oncologists. The judgement of the Committee will be final.
All applications will be judged on a number of criteria, including innovation, scientific content, presentation and the overall contribution of the trainee to the work.
The deadline for submission of abstracts will be September 20th each year. All authors will be informed of acceptance or rejection by the 10th October each year. This will allow the authors time to prepare their presentation for the forthcoming November meeting.
The principal author will be the individual who submits the work with an accompanying statement outlining his or her contribution. All contributing authors to this work will be deemed to be winners but the holder of the medal will be the principal author. Presentation of the medal will be at the November meeting.
The prize will run for 10 years at which point it will be reviewed by Council.
