The GE Healthcare Scholarship Awards
The SRS is grateful to GE Healthcare, formerly Amersham Health, who generously donate funds for the Scholarship.
Guidelines for Applicants
- Awards are available to all SRS Members of good standing
- Preference will be given to those undertaking scientific paper/poster presentations at national or international meetings.
- Some preference will be given to consultants who are within five years of their first consultant appointment.
- Depending on the uptake of the available grant, consideration may be given to applications from non-medical professionals related to radiology/oncology, provided that they have the support of an SRS member of good standing.
- Applications for awards will be considered at the next SRS Council meeting following receipt of the application.
- All applicants will be advised of the Council's decision.
- Successful applicants will be required to attend the SRS scientific meeting following their visit, in order to submit an oral or poster presentation in relation to the award.
- Successful applicants will also be required to submit a written report to the Council
- Successful applicants will generally be awarded funding retrospectively in relation to the project/presentation date, following submission to the Treasurer of appropriate expense receipts and CME certificates.
Award categories are as follows:
- Small grants:
Up to £300, to promote pump priming for audit and other small research projects.
- Travel grants:
Up to £800 to support attendance and presentation at educational meetings. Payment will be made after the meeting, following submission of receipts of expenses incurred, CME certificates and details of all other awards that have been obtained in relation to the meeting.
- Exceptional personal grants:
To support specialised training/departmental visits generally covering a 2-12 month period.
Applications should be submitted to the Secretary on this application form.
