Case 28

Neurofibromatosis

A patient with limb weakness

This man was referred for MRI for upper motor neurone symptoms in all limbs. Axial and coronal T1 weighted images are shown.

Findings

This large well defined lesion lies in, and expands, the neural foramen on the left. The mass also compresses and deviates the upper cervical cord.

A: Axial T1 - 22kb B: Coronal T1 - 24kb

Diagnosis

Neurofibroma. Neurofibromatosis type I.
